Basarabia în Bucate brings to the heart of Brașov the recipes we grew up with, the wines of Moldova and that way of sitting at the table where time is measured in stories, shared plates and one more glass of wine poured before you leave.
Food has always been one of the loveliest ways for us to keep our connection with our origins, and our restaurant in Brașov grew naturally around the recipes we know, love and want to carry forward.
On the menu you will find dishes with Basarabian roots, from the pies that have already become known among our guests to dishes that call for patience in the kitchen, desserts made from recipes kept in the family and wines selected from the wineries of Moldova. Each has its place, and together they create that Basarabian flavour we want you to recognise every time you return.
Every evening looks different
Sometimes the table is for two and begins with a wine chosen at leisure; other times friends gather, more plates appear in the middle and conversation stretches the evening on without any plan made in advance.
The wine cellar, the terrace and the dining room each have their own atmosphere, and the kitchen ties them together with the same rich flavours. A few steps from Council Square, the restaurant stays close to the bustle of the old town while keeping the pace of an evening spent at leisure, in peace.

Our Basarabian roots can be found throughout the menu, from recipes close to the form in which we first knew them to dishes through which our kitchen has found its own expression.
You can begin with the pies that many of our guests return for, choose a dish you know or let curiosity decide. Moldovan wines complete the meal, and the desserts keep the ending within the same story of flavours from Basarabia.
